What is Mounjaro?
Mounjaro is a weight loss medicine that contains an active substance called tirzepatide.
Mounjaro primarily works by regulating your appetite, giving you a sense of satiety (‘fullness’), making you feel less hungry and experience less food cravings.
This will help you eat less food and reduce your body weight.
It can be a very effective medicine to achieve sustained weight loss when used alongside a reduced calorie diet, increased physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices.
An injection you give yourself just once a week (subject to clinical suitability), it’s quick and easy to use.
Medication Timeline
The starting dose is 2.5mg per week for 4 weeks.
After 4 weeks your healthcare professional will increase your dose to 5mg per week for another 4 weeks.
Everbody responds differently to Mounjaro.
After 4 weeks at 5mg per week, your healthcare professional can decide to keep you at this level or increase each month the dose by 2.5m.
Your healthcare professional will, together with you decide on your maintenance dose. You will stay at this dose until you reach your goals.

How do I start treatment?

A complete medical history will be taken.
An e-prescription will be issued which can be used at any pharmacy in Spain.
Start treatment:
Use your e-prescription at any pharmacy in Spain.
Start your weekly injection.
Record your weight loss each week at the same time.
Follow our doctors weight management advise.
Follow up
Book in to be evaluated by your doctor.
We will ask about how you are tolerating the treatment and the results obtained.
Move up the treatment scale (change in dose).
Continue to live a healthier lifestyle.
Warning:
Mounjaro may cause tumors in the thyroid, including thyroid cancer. Watch for possible symptoms, such as a lump or swelling in the neck, hoarseness, trouble swallowing, or shortness of breath. If you have any of these symptoms, tell your healthcare provider.
- Do not use Mounjaro if you or any of your family have ever had a type of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC).
- Do not use Mounjaro if you have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
- Do not use Mounjaro if you are allergic to it or any of the ingredients in Mounjaro.
